ORIGIN / FORMATION OF SANSTHA

It can no longer be denied that aged people need care, regard, solitude and commiseration and if they don't get the same in the joint family system in their homes, then “Homes for the aged” is the need of the hour.

With this objective in mind, a core group of above said people came forward and constituted a sanstha named as “Hari Prabhu Sanstha” on 24th July 2004 (a Non-Government Organisation) and got it registered vide no: 4801-S of 2005 under J&K societies Act IV 1998 (1941-AD).

The initial project which Sanstha envisaged to take up was the construction of “Hari Prabhu Ashray” “A Home” for the aged, orphans’, widows, destitutes, and uncared for people of the most neglected and backward areas, at the most fascinating site, located exactly on Dhar-Udhampur Road, at Nagrota Gujroo, Tehsil-Ramkot, District Kathua.

A piece of land measuring 3½ kanals was donated by Swami Hari Bhagat Ji Maharaj, a spiritually evolved and highly motivated personality, adjacent to the famous Durga Temple Complex.
